There’s a quote I keep coming back to lately—the kind you don’t just read, but feel with your whole being. It starts with two simple words:


“Be soft.”


Isn’t that gorgeous? And also, let’s be real—kind of rebellious. In a world that celebrates hustle, productivity, and overachievement, choosing softness can feel… well, like going upstream in a floaty pink inner tube.

That’s exactly what we’re doing with my new YouTube series: Journal with Jenny. It's not about perfect spreads, bullet points, or being the next Pinterest goddess. It’s about creating a judgment-free space where we can mix art, words, tears, glitter pens, and half-thoughts—and actually let that be enough.


A Space to Sip Tea and Scribble


When I read lines like: "Take time to sip your coffee (or tea). Study a leaf. Paint colors in your mind." —I think, Yes, this is the pace I want to live at.

And journaling? It’s the perfect portal into that slower, softer rhythm. It’s where the vines of your soul get to wander—up, down, sideways, wherever they please. In Journal with Jenny, we explore this through simple prompts, gentle guidance, and creative freedom. No pressure. No gold stars. Just space to be human.


Why Journaling Matters (Especially for Therapists & Feelers)


As therapists, caretakers, and general over-feelers, we carry a lot. The stories. The stress. The “Am I doing this right?” spirals. Journaling helps me—and I hope, you too—create a space where that weight can settle and breathe.

Maybe that means scribbling in the margins. Maybe it’s gluing moss to the page (zero judgment). Maybe it’s writing a letter to your inner 7-year-old or doodling a wall you wish you could paint pink.

The practice is the point.


Let’s Be Soft Together


The world will try to harden us. To speed us up, straighten us out, “fix” us into boxes. But what if, instead, we did as Rumi said?


“Say no. Be soft. Be you.”
